MRS TAIWO OBASANJO FORGIVES SON...

Following the drama around the nuptials of Temitope Adebutu and Olujowan Obasanjo, the upset mother of the groom (Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo) has finally forgiven all.

Angry that she was excluded from the planning of the May 11 and 13, 2017, ceremonies, read the story here, here andhere) she had gone to court to get the wedding postponed till after June 1, and written to the Methodist Church to list her fears.

She had even planned to picket the Methodist Church of the Trinity in Tinubu Square and Eko Hotel Convention Centre (both in Lagos where the superlative wedlock reeled before the eyes of the high and mighty), but was prevailed upon.

The graceful grandmother spoke to Encomium Weekly in the evening of Sunday, June 4, 2017, maintaining that she has forgiven her son, daughter and daughter-in-law and all those who upset her .

Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo, mother of two children (Esther Olubunmi Williams, who represented her at the ceremonies, and Olujowan Obasanjo), told Encomium Weekly:

“I have forgiven them as a praying mother. You cannot justify before God not forgiving those who offended you. I have been praying for a forgiving spirit, and it’s already done.

“It’s not something l want to be reminded of… It was a big pain that l don’t want to remember.  I don’t want to talk about it anymore. “I have forgiven everybody, and l want everyone to forgive me…

“I love them. I love my daughter very much. My children are wonderful. We are a family that have God. If your children offend you and they apologise, you forgive them. And you allow God’s love to rule.

“Both of them apologised to me (daughter and son). I have forgiven my daughter-in-law (Temitope Adebutu) too.”

The tall and beautiful grandmother also spoke about the ecstasy of seeing her children’s children:

“I am a proud grandmother already (through her daughter, Mrs. Esther Olubunmi Williams, who’s married to Oluwarotimi Tolulope Williams since August 2010). It’s wonderful, fulfilling.

“It’s like running a relay race, and you handover the baton. Someone gave birth to you, you give birth and your children are now giving birth. It’s joyful.”

Speaking about pregnancy and how she wanted a handful of children, the twin (her brother is Chief Kenny Martins who introduced Temitope and Olujowan) revealed:

“Pregnancy was not easy for me. That’s the plan of God for me – to have only two children. I am appreciative of God. “They are wonderful children. The man is an excellent guy. He works with his father (Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, two-time leader of Nigeria from 1976 – 1979 and 1999 – 2007) in one of his companies in Abeokuta (Ogun state).

“I have fond memories of them growing up. It’s been a beautiful life.  God has blessed me so much. I thank God for motherhood and fatherhood.  Their father is a great man. He’s a man l love and appreciate.”

Mrs. Obasanjo is very concerned about Nigeria’s future, and talked about her political party  (Abundance Congress Party):

“The party is not registered yet, but we are working towards it. It’s an all-inclusive party of the prominent and obscure from the west, east, north and south.

“It’s for a collection of people who have come back to their senses. We are for selfless service and selfless sacrifice.

“It’s for those who have repented. Those who were once corrupt and now upright, once bad but are now good. Not those with mercenary agenda. We practise self discipline.

“Transparency, accountability and prudence are key.

“We are concerned about a better tomorrow.”

THE REASON I DON'T WANT MY SON TO MARRY "TOPE ADEBUTU"~~MRS OBASANJO

The wife of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has raised an alarm over what she said would be the consequences of their son’s forthcoming wedding to the daughter of the owner of Premier Lotto, Kessington Adebutu.

Taiwo Obasanjo, in a letter to The Methodist Church of Nigeria, said the dates chosen for the wedding of Abraham Obasanjo to Tope Adebutu – May 11 and 13 – would precipitate untold misery for the country.

“The two dates were chosen and compelled by Satan for them to lure unsuspecting numerous souls to a banquet of death, that will result in strange holocaust in our nation,” Mrs. Obasanjo said.

“After the wedding, you will be hearing and seeing incidents of plane crashes, fire incidents, multiple road accidents, tankers and trailer killing people, cancers, diseases of kidney, liver, prostrate, eyes issues and diverse health problem causing strange death in people and the economy situation will worsen.”

In her latest letter, addressed to the head of the Methodist Church in Nigeria, Mrs. Obasanjo said repeated pleas to her prospective sister, daughter, and father-in-law; her husband; and her brother, Kenny Martins to shift the wedding date fell on deaf ears.

“I am not against the wedding, all I am relentlessly pleading is for a shift in the date and they turned against me, even on the 11th and 13th of May they are planning to assassinate me or keep me in police custody from 10th – 14th May 2017, when they would have completed the devilish wedding ceremony.

“Sir, is this a wedding ceremony or a clever, premeditated, devilishly calculated scheme to sacrifice thousands of souls as they come to the feast of death, ostensibly announced as wedding ceremony?
“I am alive and healthy and I am not mad, God used me to convince my son to change his mind to marry this lady called Tope Adebutu, now they want to kill me by all means possible.”

Mrs. Obasanjo also said she would stage a peaceful, public protest on the days of the wedding, and had already informed the police.

“This protest is to bring out people to praise the Almighty God very loud with songs and drummers to sing and dance like King David, as they hold the demonic ceremony. We will not insult or abuse anyone.

“Please, I want the whole world to know that I am not mad and I am not against my son’s wedding but the whole truth will be revealed by the Almighty God who sees in secret all that is hidden, for the power of the Almighty God is supreme.

“Reminder will be sent out to let people know that as many as are free, can join me in praising the Almighty God publicly when then wedding day draws near.”

OBASANJO'S WIFE FILE A SUIT TO STOP SON'S WEDDING !

Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday filed a suit at an Ikeja High Court, seeking to stop the wedding of her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, scheduled for May 11.

Ex-President Obasanjo and the father of the bride, Sir Kessington Adebutu, promoter of Premier Lotto known as “Baba Ijebu” are respondents to the suit.

Mrs Obasanjo, who is the twin sister of Chief Kenny Martins, the former Coordinator of the Police Equipment Fund, is seeking a postponement of the wedding of her son, Olujonwo to Tope Adebutu scheduled for May 11 and May 12.

She wants the wedding to be fixed for a date after June 1.

Olujonwo and Tope had an elaborate introduction on Dec. 17, 2016 with the social media awash with photographs of the event.

Obasanjo, among others, is seeking a court declaration that as the mother of the groom, she had the rights to take part in the deliberations, decisions and activities leading to the forthcoming ceremony.

According to her, wedding invitations have been sent out and she has been excluded from the preparations for the ceremonies.

She said she also received prophesies and warnings from men of God to the effect that Olujonwo, her son who turns 34 on June 1, should not do or be involved in any elaborate celebration before his birthday.

The woman wants the court to compel Adebutu and Obasanjo to shift the wedding to a date after June 1 after she had appealed to Adebutu and Mrs Rosemary Dacosta, the mother of the bride, Tope Adebutu, the bride-to-be as well as Chief Kenny Martins.

Justice Lateefa Okunnu has fixed April 10 for hearing of the suit no. ID/262FPM/2017

OBASANJO AND OTHERS URGED OONI TO IGNORE THE OLUGBO AND FOCUS ON HIS UNIFICATION AGENDA

Eminent Yoruba Patriots which includes former president of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka on Wednesday urged the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, to ignore anybody, who called Moremi Ajasoro a traitor.

In his speech at the event, Professor Soyinka said somebody's view about Moremi did not take away anything from the reality of who she was and that no celebration in her honour could be too much.

“There is controversy about the origin of someone whom we know as the origin of Yoruba race, kingdom, black race and humanity. The controversy may continue for long but the reality is that Kabiyesi, the Ooni of Ife above all, Ile Ife is the cradle of humanity.

“We know what we know; we know what we accept and believe and that remains the fact. I have just gone to see the statue of Moremi and the controversy on Moremi. I learnt that some people said that Moremi, the heroine, is a traitor. That does not touch any part of reality of what Moremi is or was. And as the head of this race, I don’t want you (Ooni) to spend any time or energy at all responding to counter or alternative theories. It is not necessary.” Prof Soyinka said.

Soyinka, who added that the influence of the Ooni and Ile Ife as the cradle of mankind transcended this region also said the Ife monarch was recognised and referred above other Obas outside the shores of Nigeria.

Soyinka who's first child bears the name MOREMI added that the influence of Ile-Ife transcends Nigeria and Africa. “If you walk on the street of Cuba or Brazil, somebody will tap you on your shoulder because they know you are black, they say ‘who are you?’ And you say ‘I am Osun, Ogun, Sango’. At the end, they will ask you how is the Ooni? It means the Yoruba race, culture is beyond this environment,” Soyinka added.
The former President said Oba Ogunwusi had done very well to unite Yoruba monarchs and had embarked on the transformation of Ile Ife in the past one year on the throne of his forefathers.

“I commend His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for his unification agenda and for ensuring that the Yoruba race remains undivided.”

He stated that he had been watching the unification and transformation moves of Oba Ogunwusi with keen interest immediately after he ascended the throne.

The former President described the moves “as a very good thing,” adding that unity would bring peace and development to the people.

He urged the Ife monarch as the spiritual leader of Yoruba not to relent in ensuring that the entire Yoruba race was brought together.

Ooni Ogunwusi later told journalists in an interview after the that he would not relent in his efforts towards ensuring the unity of the race and to emancipate Ife youths from unemployment and poverty.

He said peace in Yorubaland was critical to the peace of Nigeria and Africa, adding that peace in Yoruba land was non-negotiable.

The Arole Oodua said he was aware of the economic crisis when he was inaugurated as the 51st Ooni of Ife but he decided to make a difference in the lives of his people despite recession.

The monarch stated that he focused on agriculture, tourism and youth empowerment to restore peace and tranquility to the once troubled town.

The Ooni stated that the communal clash between Ife and Modakeke left post-war effect which turned some of the youths to miscreants.

He, however, noted that through his efforts, most of the youths had now been given hope, while peace had been restored to Ile Ife.

“We know the situation of things in Ile Ife before I came. We know that dollar is not affecting what we produce on our farms and we focused on three things- agriculture, tourism and youth emancipation.

“We encourage our youths to produce and I am a promoter of local goods. Everything I wear is produced locally excluding my wristwatches. My beads and shoes are produced here.

“The Ife-Modakeke war left our youths to be heartless and carefree but now Ife has become one of the most peaceful towns in the country.” Ooni Ogunwusi said.

Also in attendance at the low-key occasion is the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion,  Deputy governor Titi Laoye-Tomori who represented governor Rauf Aregbesola of the state of Osun, former governor Theophilos Bamigboye, Senator Jeremiah Oseni, Senator Grace Bent, Alhaji Suaib Oyedokun, Asiwaju of Ife Chief Alex Dudu Yemi, Elegusi of Ikate Oba Saheed Elegusi, Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Ganiyu Oloogunebi, about 60 other monarchs from across Nigeria and Republic of Benin, to mention but just a few.

While the ongoing first coronation anniversary Ooni Ogunwusi continues till Sunday, the event of Wednesday that witnessed the book launch was climaxed by the O TI SE'ESE CARNIVAL attended by thousands of Nigerian youths at Olokun park and IRAWO OODUA MEDALS AWARDS bestowed on eminent Oodua's sons and daughters including Chief Mrs Nike Akande, Professor Sophie Oluwole and Hon. Funmilayo Tejuoso.
